The first breakthrough project for the shipyard was a spectacular 85m superyacht VICTORIOUS, the biggest superyacht ever built in Turkey, winning the most prestigious awards in 2022, such as the International Yacht & Aviation Award “Best Motor Yacht over 80M”.

The AKYACHT shipyard was founded in 2015 in Kocaeli Free Trade Zone, under the leadership of Mr Ak, who is not only a visionary person, successful businessman, but more importantly, he is a very experienced yacht owner. Worth mentioning that AKYACHT has strong financial support and an innovative vision, being a part of the Intercity group, the largest leasing and fleet rental company in Turkey. It is remarkable that Mr Ak, the founder of the shipyard, also organises the Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix, as the owner of the Istanbul Park Circuit.

Although the shipyard was officially established in 2015, neither the owner nor the staff were new to the yachting industry. The shipyard is proud to have its own ISO 9001 Lloyd’s-certified facilities. These include one 1,800m2 build shed of 90m in length and a second 60m-long 1,200m2 shed, both environmentally controlled with associated workshops en-suite, on a waterside site of around 15,000m2. More importantly the management team assembled a highly qualified and now well-established team of over 100 specialists. In-house disciplines include joinery, painting, outfitting, piping, machinery, electrical systems and supporting disciplines such as project management, planning, engineering, interior design, quality assurance, human resources and IT.

M/Y VICTORIOUS - Crafting A Legend

AKYACHT’s inaugural project is the 85-metre explorer yacht VICTORIOUS - and when we say explorer yacht, we mean it. The largest superyacht ever constructed in Turkey, the steel-hulled VICTORIOUS can withstand the ocean’s harshest conditions while delivering an impressive range of 13,000 nm. With 12 opulent staterooms, an indoor swimming pool, a 200-sqm beach club, four large tenders and a gentleman’s lounge complete with a marble fireplace, it’s not hard to see why all eyes were on VICTORIOUS when she hit the water in early 2021. Delivering Exceptional Value

Given the collective experience and expertise behind the shipyard team, the owner never hesitated before taking on the construction of the largest yacht ever built in Turkey. AKYACHT ‘s first project was the 85m Victorious, a steel-hulled expedition yacht built to Lloyd’s 100 A1 classification for up to 24 guests in 12 suites, as well as its unique to the industry 12.8m aluminium catamaran limousine beach-lander tender. Both were successfully delivered in 2021 and the yacht made a highly acclaimed debut at the Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht includes some of the rarest features, such as: sun deck gentlemen’s club with wine cellar, humidor and working fireplace, full sea-level spa, two sea terraces, spectacular beach club, generous swimming pool, cinema and many other features.

Superyacht Refit Facilities

Aside from the new build superyacht projects, the shipyard has also completed three successful refit projects, two 52m yachts and one of 31.4m in length, proving its ability to handle projects of any kind.
