Amanda Frances - Money Queen
Nestled in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of West Hollywood, this magnificent residence was turned into a female entrepreneur/bachelorette oasis by Amanda Frances, a world-renowned author, entrepreneur and financial educator. Amanda bought the house as her “last single girl house.” She spent nearly two years renovating and making it her own, every detail thoughtfully crafted.
When Frances purchased the house, it was very much a cold and generic modern home and had no character, as she expresses it.
She divided the renovation into two phases. For phase one, with the help from Brianna Bitton of Britton Design Group, she began the journey of turning it into the warm yet modern house it is today. She focused on adding coziness through textures such as alpaca pillows and soft blankets arranged around her Restoration Hardware cloud couch. They added potted plants to each room bringing aliveness to the home. To honor the modern style of the house, and Frances personal style, she kept everything simple and uncluttered. Everything has a very intentional place.
The second phase of this renovation was the complete gutting and rebuilding of the kitchen. Frances worked with Edward Tsivislavsky of California Flooring and Construction. She had a clear vision of the type of kitchen she felt would complete the house. Together, they brought her vision to life. Complete with stark black and white Italian porcelain, floating shelves, a wood ceiling, a built in cappuccino maker, three dishwasher drawers, a pull out beverage station and two touchless sinks, the kitchen is truly the heart of the home as well as a work of art in itself.
Highlights of this architectural pearl include dramatic high ceilings, massive windows with custom linen curtains, a built in bar, and incredible stone and tile work throughout the home. Large sliding glass doors create the perfect indoor/outdoor flow towards the pool, jacuzzi, and outdoor living room under the cabana. Frances’ time living in Ubud, Bali, served as the inspiration for the outdoor spaces, which is one of her favorite parts of the house.
The entire home serves as an inspiration to design your life exactly as you want it.
That doesn’t mean that the renovation process wasn’t without challenges. With the pandemic, Frances and the team faced long delays with construction. Lead times on furniture, hardware and appliances sky-rocketed, which slowed the process significantly. In the end, she feels that each of the changes that were made worked out for the better.
Featured on season 4 of the Netflix success Selling Sunset, viewers have got a glimpse of Frances’s design prowess, yet another add on to her extensive resume.
Frances is already on to her next project.
She recently purchased Kyle Richards’ Bel Air home, which was frequently featured in previous seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She tells us she has even bigger renovation plans for her new property.
