Raw Materials are hand selected in limited quantities from auctions and collectors worldwide, Representing less than .1% of the entire production that are able to meet our stringent standards of quality. In-House sourcing of diverse materials allows us to craft each item from conception to completion with the utmost attention to detail; quality and assurance of service are therefore delivered to our clients for years to come.



While the trend in fashion seems to be mass-production and cutting costs at every corner, we at Dennis Basso have strong beliefs about quality, integrity, and distinctiveness. Fashion, to us, is a way of life, not a means to an end. Made-to-measure is our first obligation at Dennis Basso, 90% of the garments are tailored to perfection and designed to fit our customers silhouette. Often, we create new garments from scratch, starting with a sketch and working closely with the client to mold their ideas into reality. Other times we use existing designs to modify and customize the piece to the customers measurements and desire. We also transform old or sentimental fur coats, renovating the existing material into something modern and chic while keeping its nostalgia. THE DESIGNER: An iconic American design legend and celebrated furrier, Dennis Basso is known for his couture designs and stunning runway collections. He has been hailed by both celebrity and private clients for over three decades and has built a fashion empire in the style of European Ateliers; synonymous with classic glamour. His designs with fur are innovative and imaginative, treating fur as a fluid textile and manipulating it in the most unexpected of ways. He is equally recognized for his breathtakingly beautiful gowns, often comprised of exquisite fabrics, intricate embroidery and one-of-a-kind hand-embellishment. The most recent brand extension, the launch of an exclusive collection of bridal designs for the esteemed Kleinfeld Bridal salon in New York City, was a fulfillment of his childhood dream of designing wedding dresses. Mr. Basso attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. A respected voice and supporter of the fashion industry, he is a long-standing member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America. He has received numerous humanitarian awards for his charitable contributions, including honors from The Alzheimer’s Association, Boys Town of Italy and The Children’s Hearing Institute. He also received the QVC Q Star Ambassador Award and an Honorary Doctorate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2013 in recognition of his talent, vision, and business acumen. Most recently, Dennis Basso and his husband, Michael Cominotto, sponsored the renovation of the chapel at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
