Gateway Bronco - The All-Electric Luxe-GT

With an estimated 10 million-plus electric vehicles already on the road, it’s no secret electrification is sweeping the auto industry. Worldwide, the number of electric vehicles (EV) available in 2020 was a whopping 40% more than just a year earlier. Whether it’s cost of purchase incentives like state and federal tax credits, cost of ownership benefits such as reduced maintenance, or the growing awareness of climate change and the impact of fossil fuels on our environment, one doesn’t have to look far for the reasons driving this shift. These considerations, coupled with the innovation and improvements realized in battery production and electric vehicle performance will continue to drive the EV trend forward.

Responding to this trend, 18 of the 20 largest automakers have introduced measures to increase or support the number of available EV models and boost production of electric vehicles. Earlier this year Ford Motor Company announced its plans to bring electric vehicles at scale to American customers with two new massive, environmentally and technologically advanced campuses in Tennessee and Kentucky to produce the next generation of electric F-Series trucks and the batteries to power future electric Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Ford’s $11.4B investment, the largest in its 118-year history, will create 11,000 new jobs and bring more than one million electric vehicles a year to American drivers. General Motors Co. has committed to increasing its EV and AV investments from 2020 through 2025 to $35 billion, representing a 75 percent increase from its initial commitment. And Toyota announced it will invest approximately $3.4 billion in automotive batteries in the United States through 2030 as part of its $13.5 billion commitment to EV technology. These investments are all clear indicators of the auto industry’s recognition of consumer interest and the shift toward EV.

This interest and demand for EVs across the automotive industry create opportunities for companies like Gateway Bronco. Launched in 2016 and located just off historic Route 66, Gateway Bronco is the world’s first approved manufacturer of vintage, first-generation Ford Broncos. Operating from a 60,000 sq. ft. facility, Gateway Bronco breathes new life into these American legends. Now celebrating its fifth year in business, and with over 100 vehicles having been built for clients around the world, Gateway Bronco is the preeminent leader in helping clients realize their dreams by delivering these handcrafted, one-of-a-kind vehicles.

“Innovation is the cornerstone of Gateway Bronco,” said Seth Burgett, CEO of Gateway Bronco. “We’re constantly evaluating consumer trends and new technology and quickly realized our client’s interest wasn’t limited to only our traditional internal combustion engine-powered Broncos, but also electric powertrains as well. By moving quickly, leveraging our team’s backgrounds, and carefully developing strategic alliances, we’ve developed an amazing platform of 100% electric vintage vehicles.”

In keeping with the company’s mission of blending modern technology with vintage design, Gateway Bronco is now producing its one-of-a-kind vintage Ford Broncos with the option of being fully electric. Earlier this year, the company’s first all-electric LUXE-GT received incredible response after being unveiled at Monterey Classic Car Week. “Going in, we felt like we had something pretty special from a design perspective,” Burgett continued. “The custom sea-foam green exterior coupled with the imported leather and Seadek flooring creates the ultimate vacation vibe. When visitors learned the Bronco was 100% electric, interest went to another level. Our team had a lot of fun watching people’s reactions.”

Delivering a 300-mile range, and a sub-5 second 0-60 time, this SUV delivers modern performance and technology with all the style and character of a vintage Bronco. Luxuriously equipped with Gateway Bronco’s proprietary electric ride control suspension, the SUV allows a driver to adjust the vehicle’s ride feel from Firm to Luxury to Sport mode with the flip of a switch. Powered retractable steps, powered window lifts, Apple CarPlay stereo, a driver assist backup camera in the rearview mirror and heated and cooled seats come together to create this absolute zero-compromise vehicle, perfect for a weekend drive or vacation home.

While questions regarding how the EV market shifts from movement to mainstream remain, companies like Gateway Bronco are forging ahead boldly, listening to client preferences and delivering artistry on wheels. “Since launching our electric LUXE-GT in California, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in interest and orders,” added Burgett. “From supercharged V8’s to electric drivetrain options, it’s an exciting time for our organization. As we look forward to the future, our team is committed to delivering a steed for every need.”
