Hudson Valley Emerging as the New Hot Spot for Luxury Experiences

The Hudson Valley has become a go-to destination for active, sophisticated families in the Northeast. The region recently has attracted several upscale new developments and luxury retreats that are transforming the region into a hub for exclusive experiences.

The Hudson Valley features mountain retreats, outdoor activities, artistic communities, beautiful landscapes and proximity to New York City. Nestled between the majestic Catskill Mountains and the serene Hudson River, Hudson Valley is a region that captivates residents and visitors with its rolling hills and tranquil rivers.

Leading the way is Silo Ridge Field Club. This private community and club offers luxury real estate options – ranging from upscale condominiums and cottages to large family estates – coupled with an outstanding array of recreational amenities and services. Other prominent recent openings include The Ranch, a comprehensive wellness retreat, Auberge's Wildflower Farms resort, and Soho House’s first U.S. countryside retreat.

Silo Ridge Field Club

Silo Ridge Field Club was created by Discovery Land Company, one of the world’s leading developers of exceptional private clubs and communities with a renowned portfolio of more than 35 properties around the world.

Home to less than 300 private residences, Silo Ridge member families enjoy exclusive access to world-class amenities such as an 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course, a 700-acre equestrian center, a community-operated organic farm, private tennis and pickleball courts, an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink, and an 11,000-square-foot family barn and a private lake club.

Discovery Land Company is widely known as one of the biggest innovators in golf, and the golf experience at Silo Ridge surpasses all expectations. The course is spectacular and is considered one of the best in the state by Golf Digest. But it’s the laid-back ambiance and easygoing nature that make golf here such a joy. Discovery’s signature comfort stations (located at holes 3 and 12) are filled with enough sweet and savory treats, local delicacies, and beverage options – including a Casamigos margarita machine and a legendary Bloody Mary bar – to put everyone in a good mood. Homes start at 2.6M.

The Ranch

The Ranch Hudson Valley, a wellness retreat, opened in April in a 1904 lakefront mansion near Tuxedo Park. This marks their first East Coast location, expanding from Malibu. The retreat spans 40,000 square feet on 200 acres, offering daily hikes, spa treatments, and nutritious meals. Accommodations include 25 rooms, with a gym for yoga and meditation, plus a 5,000-square-foot space with an indoor pool and exercise facilities. Rates start from $2,575 per person for a three-night program.

Auberge Resorts

Auberge Resorts opened Wildflower Farms in fall 2022, set on 140 acres in New York’s Hudson Valley. The resort offers outdoor activities, spa treatments, and a saltwater pool, with a focus on nature and wellness. The culinary program includes foraging, organic farming, and cooking classes. The resort features 65 bungalows, cottages, and suites, with rates from $1,250 per night.

Soho House

Soho House is opening its first U.S. countryside retreat at Grasmere House in Rhinebeck, New York. Set on 250 acres, this retreat blends Soho House’s eclectic style with a tranquil country escape. It will feature a wellness facility, spa, guest rooms, and dining options, with amenities like hiking and biking trails. This is part of Soho House's plan to open 20 new locations in the Americas by 2025.

All the new luxury-focused experiences emerging in the Hudson Valley have made the region one of the Northeast’s hottest destinations. To enjoy the best it has to offer, start making arrangements for spring and summer 2025 now.
