Inside The Met Gala with the World's Most Stylish Global Power Couple: Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio and Jessica Serfaty
Jessica Serfaty, the notable model and actress, stunned in custom Dolce & Gabbana on the red carpet for the 2024 Met gala in New York City, her gala debut, alongside fiance, the dapper Italian entrepreneur Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, chairman of Luxottica Group and global President of Ray-Ban.
The couple was engaged in Summer of 2023 on the Amalfi Coast, and has brought the style all year round attending the most sought after events from Amfar Cannes to Milan Fashion Week. For the 2024 Met Gala, the couple chose coordinating Dolce & Gabbana and custom tailored looks, arriving at the Red Carpet in bold statement form. From Vogue to Elle, WWD to Daily Front Row, Jessica and Leonardo’s fashions graced the digital pages, establishing them as a fashionable power couple at the most prestigious fashion event of the year.
"The inspiration for her look was Dolce&Gabbana 'Garden in bloom' in coordination with this year's Met Gala theme, as our first Alta Moda show took place in Taormina. The look is perfect for Jessica because both the cape and dress, beautiful pieces from archive collections, come back to life on such a beauty." - Dolce & Gabbana
Jessica's dramatic cape is made of Silk organza embellished with handmade artistic silk flowers from the Dolce & Gabbana archive. The dress underneath is an original design from the Spring summer 2005 Ready to wear collection, remade in a watermelon red silk chiffon with Swarovski crystal mesh details, originally worn by Gisele. Her shoes and purse were also Dolce & Gabbana to complete the look, paired with Cartier diamond earrings, tennis bracelet, custom Dolce & Gabbana watermelon gloves, and her stunning diamond engagement ring.
Also adds the team at Dolce & Gabbana, "The cape features Hand embroidered flowers in perfect 50’s style. The whole look, being completely handmade, is the perfect example of Italian craftsmanship."
For Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, he opted for a double-breasted solaro (a special fabric famous to reflect sunlight ) and also considering that he officially launched the Ray-Ban Reverse timed to Met Gala...it was the perfect pairing. "I've done it inside out so from the reddish side out, then inside I've made a special silk lining, handmade bespoke, inspired by the Ray-Ban collection," notes suit maker and custom Italian tailor Luca Rubinacci, out of Milan.
For Glam, Jessica opted for natural hair and flawless natural makeup, with a bronze aesthetic. Her makeup was by artist Soo Park and hair by stylist Glen Coco.
The Milan based couple also completed their look with eyewear on the carpet to show off the latest collection, both custom. Ray-Ban Wayfarer Reverse for Leonardo with a red tint glass, and Jessica in Ray-Ban Aviator Reverse with a slight gray tint glass.
This marked the first Met Gala for the couple, who got engaged last August on the Amalfi Coast and split their time between the US and Italy, Jessica being from the midwest.
