Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - An Oasis in the Desert
Resting in the undisturbed beauty of the Southern Nevada desert lies a golf experience like no other…The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Just 25 minutes northwest of the world famous Las Vegas Strip, this international golf destination is an ideal and welcomed escape from the city’s constant noise and urban development. Serving up the ultimate trio of magnificent, top ranked championship golf courses, Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain and The WOLF intertwine nature’s indigenous life with the edge-of-the-world. Sculpted by world-class architect Pete Dye, these courses are his only signature designs in Nevada.
The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is one of just a handful of courses in Vegas that has absolutely zero homes or buildings on any of its 54 holes. With the higher elevation (producing cooler climates than the Strip) and superb course conditions (no Fall overseeding required), the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort has earned a reputation as one of the few area courses that remain in peak condition no matter when you plan your trip.
Opened in 1995, Snow Mountain - the inaugural course for the master planned destination - offers a total of 7,146 yards with a par 72 layout. Golfers will tackle a risk-reward trio of memory-making game in 16, 17, and 18 - the three best finishing holes in Las Vegas. Noted for its oasis of seven water features and no parallel fairways, the design offers wide rye grass fairways, the natural rolling terrain separating each hole, and a variety of tee lengths and angles. Award-winning to the core, Snow Mountain has received numerous accolades including “Number One Public Access Course in Nevada by Golf Digest in 1995, as well as receiving a 4½ star by Golf Digest each year since its opening. Golf Magazine regularly ranks Snow Mountain in the top 15 courses in Nevada as part of its “Best Public Golf Courses” listing.
Opened in 1996, Sun Mountain - the second course and still reigning staff favorite - offers a total of 7,112 yards with a par 72 layout. Golfers discover its charm and challenge equally in the sheer length of its daunting par 5s and crisp finish in specifically hole #4 - the best par 3 on the property. Known for Mother Nature at her purest, the spectacular views of sky-scraping mountain ranges and vivid wildflower blooms flank this deceptive design of narrower fairways, strategic bunker placement, and fast-rolling greens. Host of this year’s Korn Ferry Tour’s MGM Resorts Championship and US Open Local Qualifiers, Sun Mountain has received plenty of top-ranking awards, including Golf Digest’s 4½ stars each year since its opening and also chosen as part of Golf Magazine’s top 15 courses in Nevada in the “Best Public Golf Courses” listing to name just a few.
Opened in 2001, Wolf – still leading the pack of all Las Vegas courses as the longest one in Nevada – offers a total of 7,604 yards with a par 72 layout and five tee options to temper the challenge. Recognized for its undulating design complete with steep slope changes and signature holes such as #8 with its sharp “valley” and #15 the famous island green, Wolf carries the picturesque feel of vast openness flanking a layout that advises the golfer to play smart on both the tee off and put in. Wolf holds the same prestigious distinctions as its siblings with 4½ stars by Golf Digest each year since its opening and has also been on the Top 100 Resort Courses Nationwide by GolfWeek Magazine for the past few years. Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb officially opened the course by competing in Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf and shot 65 and 64 respectively.
The 3 Pete Dye Courses aren’t the only thing the Resort has to offer. With 2 all grass practice facilities and designated as the perfect complement to the golf, the 50,000 square-foot clubhouse displays the same attention to detail, high standards, and personalized guest relations that players have come to expect from the resort. With the award-winning Pro shop; a fireplace area for relation; a 3,800 square foot restaurant and bar featuring fine food faire found in luxurious private clubs; and a cushy cigar lounge that gives guests the perfect view of Snow Mountain’s infamous 18th hole; the clubhouse is the ultimate retreat for golfers just coming off the links and non-golfers who enjoy an escape from the noise and congestion of the city.
