In 1978, Vintage Club co-developer Mick Humphreys flew from California to Florida to meet with prolific golf course designer Tom Fazio. Along with a brilliant core team of advisors, this dynamic duo set the stage for an ultra-exclusive world-class golf environment. They also set the tone for The Vintage Club member experience—a pervasive spirit of easy camaraderie within a relaxed, resort-style atmosphere.

The Vintage Club officially opened in 1980, quickly accumulating awards and accolades with the unveiling of the championship 18-hole Mountain Course. A four-year span saw the completion of the Desert Course, 500 luxury residences, and stunning modernist clubhouse beneath the transcendent skyline of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains.
