WeatherTech - The American Dream At Work

Behind every WeatherTech product, there’s an American dream at work. From the raw materials that compose their internationally-celebrated auto accessories, to the hardworking Americans they employ, their “made-right-here” heritage has always been the cornerstone of WeatherTech’s value system. It’s what they live and breathe; it’s what makes their brand what it is. It’s what allows their employees to feel proud to come to work every day.

Protecting What Matters

At WeatherTech, they aren’t focused on bringing jobs back to the U.S. because they never left. Since 1989, they’ve committed themselves to protecting what matters for the American economy and the 300 million people living in this country that they consider family. Their philosophy is simple: if their neighbors do not have a job, sooner or later they won’t have jobs either. It’s this social awareness and responsibility that has allowed them to create thousands of jobs for a diverse group of Americans from every walk of life. In turn, their employees can be proud to come to work and use their talents with a unique sense of purpose.

During the tumultuous past year, they have witnessed firsthand the devastating long-term effects that exporting American jobs has had on our economy. Sadly, in an effort to cut costs, many brands have elected to move production overseas. Although in the short-term this seems like the economical option, over time these choices wreak havoc on our economy and the quality of products available in the marketplace. In these short-sighted decisions, product quality, human rights, animal rights and environmental costs are often overlooked, not to mention the cost to our society of exporting jobs and factories.

American-Made Beginnings

Thirty years ago in 1989, at his home in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, founder and CEO David MacNeil had a vision. He was dissatisfied with the quality of existing automotive floor mats in the United States, so he began importing floor mats directly from England. However, MacNeil quickly recognized that he could deliver a superior solution right here in America, using American materials, American machines and American workers. In 2007, he made the decision to shift production and his entire line of automotive products to America, opening facilities in the suburbs of Chicago.

Since this beginning, WeatherTech has expanded operations significantly, consistently opening new facilities, developing inventive and leading-edge products, and creating jobs for Americans. Today, WeatherTech’s product portfolio spans thousands of SKUs, and FloorLiner remains its bestselling, most iconic product.

“When I walk into my local hardware store, I typically find 85% of the goods for sale are manufactured 7,000 miles away. At WeatherTech, we are doing our part for the American economy and for our 300 million fellow citizens and neighbors.”

A Customer-First Approach

One of the reasons WeatherTech chooses to design and manufacture their products in the USA is because of the speed and agility it gives them in serving their customers. Because they operate manufacturing facilities out of Bolingbrook, Illinois, they can meet consumer orders efficiently and effectively. They can supply thousands of products to customers within a matter of days, unlike manufacturers based abroad. During a year when supply chains and overseas shipments have been heavily compromised, WeatherTech has not felt the burden of this, as their operations take place on American soil.

Choosing to park their manufacturing here has helped them recruit local talent, people with deep knowledge and passion for the products, resulting in a personalized and attentive experience. It’s their unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service that sets them apart from the competition.

The Heritage & Quality Promise

American Made isn’t only important because of its economic and societal impact. When you buy American, you can count on the quality and craftsmanship of the product you’re receiving. WeatherTech’s time-trusted, international reputation for excellence has made the brand what it is today. Not only are their products made here, but they are conceptualized, designed and engineered here. They spare no expense in ensuring that they’ve sourced as many American materials as possible through the lifecycle of product creation. This includes often-forgotten details, such as factory construction parts, plates, tooling and hand-operated forklifts. Their philosophy is that demanding quality from start to finish is what makes a product superior and distinguishable from competitors.

When you purchase from WeatherTech, you are helping them constantly push forward to exceed industry standards. Plus, you are receiving a world-class product that will last for years. Protecting what matters is more important than ever, and WeatherTech is proud to be leading the way.
